SafeSide Primary CARE Suicide Prevention Training is a program delivered in partnership with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to train and certify physician, advanced practice providers, and clinical staff in a practical approach to suicide prevention in the primary care practice setting.

This program equips providers to identify those patients at risk or who are experiencing suicide ideation and direct adults and youth to appropriate and available behavioral health resources.

The Foundation is funding this program and was recently awarded a $10,000 grant from the Nord Family Foundation to supplement the Lexington Medical Center Foundation We Care Internal Grant to help deliver this training to 35 primary care, internal medicine, Ob/Gyn and oncology practices in the hospital’s network.
