The theme for this year’s Women’s Night Out is “Beautiful You” focusing on inner and outer beauty through self-care.

US News ranks LMC highly

US News & World Report has ranked Lexington Medical Center one of the top hospitals in the state.

The magazine found LMC high performing in 3 areas: abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, heart care and colon cancer surgery.

To help patients decide where to receive care, US News evaluates nearly 5,000 hospitals in 16 adult medical specialties, 9 adult medical procedures or conditions and 10 pediatric specialties.

To be nationally ranked in a specialty, a hospital must excel in caring for the sickest, most medically complex patients. The ratings in procedures and conditions, by contrast, focus on typical Medicare patients.

LMC achieved the highest rating possible in those 3 procedures or conditions.

In most medical specialties, the top 50 hospitals nationally are numerically ranked based on hospital performance indicators. Hospitals that nearly made the top 50 may be recognized as high performing.
