Donna Neel, director of the Gilbert-Summit Senior Center, said said a new assistant director has been hired. Welcome to Meloney Gilpatrick Wesolowski. She replaces Assistant Director Annette Pierce, who recently retired. Pierce worked at the GSSC for 12 years. She wanted to retire and spend more time with her family.

Director Neel tells us the members have a busy November. Last week members took a day trip to Riverbanks Zoo and went to Beulah United Methodist Church for a Thanksgiving dinner. This week they made Thanksgiving turkey candy holders, and celebrated November birthdays.

Other activities this month include games, arts and crafts, shopping trips, exercise and health seminars. Director Neel said she would like the community to become more aware of the activities and what GSSC offers for seniors. If you are a senior age 60 or above and are interested in learning more about the GSSC call Director Neel at 892-5745.
