The Crusaders are having a memorable baseball season.
Already having set a school-record for consecutive wins, Northside Christian had a chance to win its 1st ever SCISA region title Tuesday at home against Orangeburg Prep.
“They work hard and we’ve already played 20, almost 20 games,” Northside Christian head coach Bob McMillan said. “When you look around, that’s a lot more than some of the other guys that we’re playing against. Toccoa Falls College-bound senior Charlie Compton drove in 2 runs and struck out 4 in 4 innings to lead the Crusaders in this past Friday’s 12-2 win over Thomas Sumter.
McMillan praised Compton’s recovery from a back injury suffered from football that kept him inactive the 1st 3 weeks of the season.
