AROUND CAYCE, SPRINGDALE & WEST COLUMBIA

Springdale has a new Town Limit sign on Wattling Road.

Springdale Mayor Michael Bishop said town officials will be looking for new places to put future signs. The size of some signs may vary depending on the location. The Springdale Town Limits signs are bought with Accommodations Tax dollars that can only be spent on projects like signs. Bishop said be on the lookout for other new signs around town soon.

Bishop also said Springdale Town officials have met with Central Midlands Regional Transportation Authority regarding the Comet, the bus that provides service around Lexington and Richland County.

“It was very encouraging,” Bishop said of the meeting. “They are working hard to provide better services to our area, including going to the airport and Midlands Tech and with more frequency. I will keep you posted as the schedule becomes official.”

Springdale Elementary is offering a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate your support of the school, students, literacy efforts, and your commitment to educational excellence.

The School Improvement Council, in partnership with the PTO, is hosting a brick fundraiser to build a Little Free Library in front of the school. By purchasing a personalized, engraved brick for placement in the sidewalk in front of the school, you will help fund new literacy material for othe school library and help construct a Little Free Library by the flagpole.

Northside Baptist Church provided a Thanksgiving feast for Riverbank Elementary School 4K students Nov. 20. The students tried different foods and celebrated together.
