Around pelion

The new year is really the time to resolve to get involved in your government. Pelion Town Council meets January 9 at 5:30 pm for a work session and 6 pm for the meeting. All town residents are invited and encouraged to attend these meetings.

Pelion Library will host Technology Training January 8 at 10:30 am. Registration is required. This session will give personal assistance to each attendee with a computer, tablet or smartphone. The staff will help set up email, navigate the internet, download library materials and much more. Call 803-785-3272 to register.

Preschool story time will be November 8 at 11 am for ages birth to 5 years. Story time is a fun way to introduce preschoolers to literature. This session includes books, story-telling, poetry, and songs.

TeenScene meets January 9 at 6 pm with a 90’s Throwback Day. Participants will roll back the time to the 90’s from snacks to crafts. This event is for grades 6-12.

Pelion High JV basketball will play Mid Carolina January 6 at 6 pm. Varsity basketball plays at Mid-Carolina January 7 at 6 pm. January 8, JV boys and varsity basketball play at W-S beginning at 4:30 pm. JV/ MS wrestling will be at 6 pm vs Dreher and Gilbert. Varsity wrestling vs Fairfield Central and Orangeburg Wilkinson is at 6 pm. JV basketball plays Airport January 9 at 6 pm.
