THURSDAY — NOV. 11

Mac Leaphart & Ragged Company (concert)

Mac Leaphart & Ragged Company back up the band name in a good way. The group, which plays Steel Hands Brewing’s beer garden (2350 Foreman St. in Cayce), has a professionally shambolic folk-rock vibe that should please fans of Bob Dylan and The Band on “The Basement Tapes.” The group soundtracks cold brews and (hopefully) nice weather from 6 to 9 p.m. The show is free. More info available at facebook.com/steelhandsbrewing.

FRIDAY — NOV. 12

Pelion Peanut Party (festival)

It’s time to party like legumes in lower Lexington County. Pelion’s annual festival starts on Friday with the 5:30 p.m. Blessing of the Pots that boil the peanuts, and continues with amusement rides and music from the Randy Lucas Trio, Lisa Crawford, and Máximo Nivel. On Saturday, a car show goes from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the annual parade rolls at 11 a.m. A student art exhibit (noon to 5 p.m.) and fireworks (7:30 p.m.) join the amusements and music, which go from 10 p.m., and on Saturday include performances from the Capital City Clogging Company, Rhythmics Performing Arts Rhythm Company, Pelion High Orchestra, The 803, Civil Remedy, and Steel Justice. For more info, find the Pelion Peanut Party community organization page on Facebook.

Dear Blanca (concert)

An opportunity here to take in one of the Midlands’ more popular indie rock bands. Dear Blanca has the goods to satisfy fans of rock’s great singer-songwriters (Dylan Dickerson’s big, gravelly belting and poetic introspection should appeal to Springsteen devotees), even as they veer through more modern-leaning instrumentals. Dear Blanca is joined at New Brookland Tavern (122 State St. in West Columbia) by Charlotte’s Junior Astronomers. The concert starts at 8 p.m. and costs $15 ($10 in advance). More info at facebook.com/nbtavern.

Meli’sa Morgan (concert)

Meli’sa Morgan, a singer that’s been at it since the early - ’80s, leveraging her clean and charismatic pipes to notch three Top 40 R&B albums (1986’s “Do Me Baby,” 1987’s “Good Love” and 1992’s “Still In Love With You”), performs two nights at Chayz Lounge (607 Meeting St. in West Columbia) this week. The Friday and Saturday concerts both start at 8 p.m. and cost $65. The Saturday show was listed as sold out as the Chronicle went to press. For more info, head to chayzlounge.com.

SATURDAY — NOV. 13

Run Hard Lexington Half Marathon

Do you like to run? Do you perhaps like to run hard? If so, you’re in luck with the Run Hard Lexington Half Marathon. The course is such that runners will run down the 378 hill, the website helpfully notes, in case you were worried about braving that steep climb. The race starts at 7:30 a.m. Registration at this point costs $75. Runners will receive a finisher medal in addition to competing for prizes. Find out more at lexingtontonhalf.com.

Hazelwood Brewing’s Second Anniversary

The brewery started by Matt Rodgers, introduced to Lexington by brewing the beers at Old Mill Brewpub, seems to be doing well in its location across the mill in the old boiler room below the smoke stack (711 E Main St.). Try the Steinbier (a traditional German brew made in collaboration with Bierkeller Columbia by throwing white-rocks into it) or have one of the reliably strong hazy IPAs and sours, and help Hazelwood celebrate two years by the fire pit out on its recently finished beer garden (or inside if it’s a little too nippy). Chubby’s Burgers will be serving food, and Carolina Backwater Bluegrass will perform at 3 p.m. The event goes from noon to 10 p.m. Find out more at facebook.com/hazelwoodbeer.

Christmas Arts & Crafts Market

Opportunities to holiday shop just keep coming. For an 11th year, the Midlands Crafter’s Association hosts this event, bringing in more than 150 vendors, crafters and local businesses from around the Midlands. A silent auction featuring select items from vendors and the local community will benefit Harvest Hope Food Bank. The event at the State Farmers Market (3483 Charleston Hwy. in West Columbia) goes Saturday (9 a.m.-4 p.m.) to Sunday (noon-4 p.m.) Find more info at midlandscrafters.wix.com.

Fall Family Fun Fest

There will be interactive outdoor games, bouncy houses and more on offer at the Icehouse Amphitheater (107 W Main St.) at this event, presented by the Boy Scouts. And how can you turn down free hot dogs and popcorn? The free event starts at 11 a.m. Find out more at icehouseamphitheater.com.

Two Gals and a Fork Historial Lexington Tour

Hungry for food and history? The Two Gals and a Fork tour company has you covered, as it teams with Lexington County Museum Director J.R. Fennell. He’ll share insights on the town’s history while attendees experience tastings from five Lexington restaurants — Private Property, Bodhi Thai Dining, Keg Cowboy, Alodia’s Cucina Italiana, and O’Hara’s Public House are listed among the possibilities, though the site notes that stops can change without notice. Tour lasts about two and a half hours and starts at 3 p.m. Meet at the courtyard at Private Property. Free parking is available in the Radius Church lot. Individual tickets cost $45, with other options offered. More info is available at twogalsfoodtours.com.

Fisher House Benefit

Another event this week to benefit the efforts to build a Fisher House at the William Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia.

The house would accommodate families free of charge while their loved ones receive treatment at the hospital. Food options will be available for $5, as The Killer Beez offer live music, and Daniel Omura, director and CEO of the Columbia VA Health Care System will speak. A donation of $5 is asked for admission. Free admission for veterans. The event takes place at the Lake Murray VFW 6740 (950 Rock N Creek Rd. in Leesville) at 6 p.m. More info is available at fisherhousecolumbiasc.org.

SUNDAY — NOV. 14

Gaither Vocal Band (concert)

AllMusic.com calls them “one of America’s leading faith-based vocal groups,” and they play Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church (1205 Old Cherokee Rd.) on Nov. 14. Part of the regular concert series at the church, the event takes place at 7 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m.), and tickets cost $20. For more info, go to mthorebumc.com.

Karen White (author)

The Friends of the Lexington Main Library bring author Karen White to the branch (5440 Augusta Rd.) to discuss “The Attic on Queen Street,” the final installment in her Tradd Street series. With the new book the prodigious author balloons the series to seven volumes since debuting with “The House on Tradd Street” in 2017, telling the story of a “Charleston real estate agent who loves old houses — and the secret histories inside them.” The free event starts at 3 p.m. and requires an RVSP. Find more info at facebook.com/FriendsofLML.

THURSDAY — NOV. 18

Third Thursday Farmers Market

The Farm 1780 (1127 Corley Mill Rd.) keeps in the monthly event groove with the latest edition of its market. The farm’s website emphasizes using this iteration as a chance to knock out Thanksgiving prep, shopping for fresh produce, farm-fresh eggs and other merchandise. Winter breens will be available, and other farmers and artisans in the area will be around with their products as well. The event goes from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Find out more at thefarm1780.com.
