Congratulations to the 40 Carolina Springs Middle School students who presented projects at the National History Day Competition at the South Carolina State Museum in Columbia.

These were year-long research projects on historical lius Caesar Came, Saw, and Conquered Rome;” Genesis Jones in the Individual Exhibit category for her work entitled “Great Depression;” and Jasmine Jones for her Individual Documentary entitled “The Keating Owen Child Labor Act.” topics, and eight of the CSMS students scored high enough to advance to the state level competition on April 6. Regional winners include Aliza Allison in the Historical Paper category for “Washington’s Tragic And Triumphant Espionage: From Nathan Hale to the Culper Ring;” Hailey Crider and Amanda Yarsinske in the Group Performance category for “The Newsies Strike of 1899;” Jeffrey Freeman and Jaylen Gerald for their Group Documentary entitled “Jackie Robinson;” Ella Johnsen for her Individual Performance of “Veni, Vidi, Vici: How Ju-

Congratulations to White Knoll High School’s Savannah Strickland for being named to the 2019 All-State Clinic Band, Carolina Springs Middle’s Emma Ballentine and Jack Bernard for the 2019 Junior All-State Band, and White Knoll High’s Christopher R. Eggleston to the 2019 All-State Senior Band.
