Support WKHS band with fireworks

If you’re looking for fireworks to celebrate the 4th, you can support the White Knoll Marching Timber-wolves band by shopping at the fireworks stand in the Wal-Mart parking lot. Proceeds go to band expenses. Remember to enjoy fireworks responsibly and be safe this coming holiday week.

Last week’s Vacation Bible School at Red Bank UMC included a missions component where the kids donated nightly to Operation Kid to Kid for children in Haiti; they raised $630, enough to feed 63 children in Haiti for one year. To make it more fun, separate streams were set up for boys and girls; the boys’ side came out ahead at the end of the week by only $7, but that was enough to have children’s ministry director Ashley Reynolds dye her hair blue to celebrate. Thanks to the volunteers at Red Bank UMC for making helping other so much fun, and teaching kids about empathy and caring.

If you’re a fan of the annual Christmas At Red Bank concert but don’t want to wait until December to hear some of the artists featured in that holiday event, check out tonight’s Icehouse Amphitheater concert—a Tom Petty tribute night featuring CARB alumni Josh Roberts and his band, along with several other who have performed at the Christmas show: Nikki Lee Hagenmeyer, Matt Goudelock, Brian Conner of Villanova, and Danielle Howle. Admission’s free, the show starts around 7 p.m.

Happy birthday to Cathy Gates, Darry Waits, June Kinzie, Carter Brewer, Darlene Haught, Sid Hawkins, Colin Crolley, Krista Harmon, Bryan Cress, Natilee Azzara, Cheryl Smith, Katheryn Kyzer, and Cletus Brian Estep.

Happy anniversary this week to Gary and Cathy Gates, Bob and Barb Kirby, Clyde and Carolyn Lorick.
