Teachers of the Year announced

Lexington County School District Three has announced its Teachers of the Year for 2018-2019. These four dedicated professionals will vie for the title of District Teacher of the Year in late September. Along with a host of other prizes, the Teacher of the Year will receive a complimentary vehicle to drive during the school year, courtesy of Herlong Chevrolet-Buick. Congratulations to teachers Amy Bedenbaugh, Rebecca Rodgers, Christy Richardson, and Maggee Ellis.

Batesburg-Leesville is spraying for mosquitoes this summer. Spraying began June 5 and will continue periodically throughout the season. Contact Town Hall to receive spray notifications

B-L American Legion Auxiliary Post 61 has announced the 2018 Palmetto Girls State delegates from B-L High School. Congratulations to rising seniors Caroline Bedenbaugh, Lauren Connelly, Taylor Hicks, and Sandreka Pixley, who were selected based on leadership ability, interest in government, scholarship, character, maturity, and cooperativeness.

Angie Mishoe will

join the faculty and staff of B-L Elementary School July 1 as the new assistant principal. Mrs. Mishoe currently serves as the Instructional Coordinator for B-L Primary School. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Winthrop University in Special Education and has two Master’s degrees -- one in Educational Leadership from USC and one in Sports Administration from U.S. Sports Academy. She has worked in Lexington the district for the six years, with four of those years spent at B-L Elementary School as a Special Education teacher. Mrs. Mishoe says she loves the supportive, family-like environment that encompasses Lexington Three and values the district’s approach to making every student’s needs a top priority.
