Just a reminder that applications for the annual Pelion Christmas Parade must be returned by December 10 to the Pelion Middle School, 758 Magnolia St., Pelion, SC 29123, Attn: Darla Rutkoskie. The parade will be held December 14 at 3:30 pm. This is a family oriented event and all are invited to attend. Participants should meet at the football/soccer field parking lot off Fort Street on 14th Street. Equine entries are welcome.

Pelion Church of the Nazarene was full of life for the annual Pelion Thanksgiving Community Service. Pastors John McGee, Matt Miller, Byron Dixon, Julius Hadden, Donald Bodie, and Fred Gray all participated in the service. A collection was taken for PACES, which is an organization supported by the churches to provide food and clothing to needy families. A memorial quote from the sermon was ‘Satan builds you up to tear you down; God tears you down to build you up.’

Happy birthday to Frank Shumpert and Pastor Jerry Branham.

Pelion Library hosts technology training December 11 at 10:30 am for ages 18 and up. Registration is required. Preschool Storytime will be December 11 at 11 am for ages 1-5 years. Yarn Art gift exchange will be December 7 at 9:30 am for all ages. The Cookie Exchange will be December 7 at 10 am for ages 15 and up. Bring 6 dozen homemade cookies on a platter, your favorite cup and saucer and a light snack to share. Part of the fun of this program is packaging up your cookies to take home and enjoy or to give as gifts. Please bring a list of ingredients.

TeenScene meets December 12 at 6 pm for grades 6-12. The project will be fusion beads. All materials are provided.

Pelion High varsity basketball will play Wagener-Salley at home December 6 at 6 pm. December 9 will be a home game with Branchville at 6 pm. December 10 will be a game at Airport at 6 p.m. December 12 will be at Northside Christian at 6 pm.

Varsity wrestling meets at Irmo December 6 at 5 pm for the Palmetto Classic Tourney. December 7 varsity wrestling will meet at 9 am.
