Tragedies strike in our county

A well-known school bus driver was stabbed and his car stolen last week. Then a resident was hit and killed in an accident in Pelion.

WILLIAM CODY MILLER was killed walking along 178 around 6:30 pm Jan. 27 near Thor Road. No charges have been filed but the Highway Patrol is investigating.

THEN A WELL-KNOWN Swansea man who drives a school bus for Lexington District 4 was cut and stabbed several times by a person he knew that asked for a ride. Mark Wannamaker is still in a medically induced coma so his body can heal before more surgery is done. Mark is well known as a quiet, helpful person. Please continue to send prayers up to both these families that are dealing with these unforeseen incidents.

FINALLY, THE TOWN of Gaston swore in Mayor Troy Bivens and Council members Mike Cook and Carol McCombs to serve the town 4 more years.

UNTIL NEXT WEEK, stay safe my friends.
