Veterans of Foreign War Post 6740 invites you to their Trunk or Treat family day 11 am - 2 pm Saturday, Oct. 31.

Post members will have games, candy, prizes and each child will receive a special flag bag for their candy.

Booths will share information about the post and their mission. Post 6740 is located at 950 Rock n Creek Road off US 378. For information call 803-532-6740.

CONGRATULATIONS to Gilbert High sophomore Ellie Harman who recently won the SC FFA Creed Speaking Leadership Development competition. The Creed Speaking contest is open only to 1st-year FFA members. All participants must memorize and recite the FFA’s creed and answer questions from judges. The questions are about the FFA organization, its mission and purpose, and the agricultural industry. Harman is considering a career in agriculture. She competed against 8 others to win the state title. Later this fall she will compete virtually for the national honor.

A HIGHLIGHT for Gilbert Scout Pack 60 is their annual Trunk or Treat. Pack 60 Scouts look forward to attending this event. Scouts and their siblings will receive treats and a contest will be held for the best costume. Pack 60 plans to have their event before Halloween. Pack 60 will also participate in the annual Lexington Veteran’s Day parade Sunday, Nov. 1.

COTTON BRANCH Farm Sanctuary recently celebrated Snooty Saturday. They celebrated with an online auction for Animals Day. Some items auctioned included pig towels and t-shirts, cow art and chicken décor. Proceeds went to the care of the animals at the non-profit farm.
