It’s almost time for the Upward Basketball season to begin at Red Bank Baptist Church. Registration and evaluations begin October 15. The season will run from December 1 until January 27. Visit www.upward.org for info.

7-Eleven is coming to Red Bank soon. Reportedly, the Village Store on Platt Springs Road will be converted to a 7-Eleven concept this month, which means we’ll be able to get a real Slurpee again. In other business news, the Publix supermarket is set to open at the end of October.

The Blessing Box at Red Bank UMC is indeed being a blessing to many in the community, but it is in need of regular donations to keep it stocked. Anyone can donate, just as anyone can be blessed by the food and other items in the box. If you are interested in donating you may drop nonperishable food products at the church office during business hours or simply leave them in the box, which is at the church entrance on Old Barnwell Road.

Fall Revival is happening at Lexington Church of God Oct. 14 through Oct. 17. Nursery and Kids class will be available for each service. Visit Lexingtonchurchofgod.com for information.

Fall festival season and Halloween events are coming. If your church, school, or organization is doing anything in Red Bank, drop me a line and let me know. Red Bank United Methodist’s Trunk or Treat is October 24, and St. James Lutheran’s Trunk r’ Treat and Fall Festival is October 27.

Happy birthday to Patsy Fetner, Jerrolyn Jeffcoat, John Dove, Lenzi Waits, Shelley Spence, Amy Oliver, Bob Kirby, Evelyn Cook, Kayden Gunter, and Autumn Rodgers.
