Troop Appreciation Fishing Derby honors those who served our country.

The September 16 Troop Appreciation Fishing Derby has found a new home.

With Dominion Energy’s closing and possible sale of Pine Island, the fishing event organizers had to move.

“We have some good news,” said organizer Capt. Mike Glover.

“The Lake Murray Sail Club has extended an invitation to our Foundation to host this years event at their private facility. We have accepted their generous offer and have adjusted our plans accordingly.

“The facility is perfect for our event. The Troop Appreciation Foundation and Wounded Warriors thank the LMSC for coming to the rescue.

“We greatly appreciate having access to Pine Island the last couple years.

“The Wounded Warriors we took fishing loved the facility. We thank the Pine Island Board and management team for the tremendous support they provided.”
