AROUND CAYCE, SPRINGDALE & WEST COLUMBIA

The Greater Cayce – West Columbia Chamber of Commerce 2018 Holiday Parade of Lights, rescheduled for last Saturday,  was canceled.

Because to rain, the chamber made the decision to cancel due to lack of time to set up the operational aspects of the parade. The chamber made the decision after consulting with Cayce Public Safety, West Columbia Police Department and the insurance carrier for the parade.

Have you been to the Cayce Municipal Complex to see the amazing light show? The lights are at 1800 12th Street. The show is free.

Law enforcement officers in Cayce and West Columbia will be on the look out over the holiday. There is also a Sober or Slammer holiday campaign in conjunction with law enforcement agencies statewide. The campaign began Dec. 15 and includes officers conducting continued DUI enforcement activities through the New Year holiday.

The traffic and patrol divisions will be focused on DUI enforcement for the next three weeks. Additional public safety checkpoints will also be implemented. Officers are asking citizens to prepare for ways to get home safely after consuming alcohol at holiday parties and other festivities.
