A West Columbia church gave back to the city’s essential workers last Friday.

Brookland United Methodist Church prepared boxed lunches for City of West Columbia essential personnel.

Employees from police, fire, sanitation, parks, maintenance, water/sewer, water plants, finance, building, customer service, planning and zoning, court, and administration departments enjoyed a hot dog, hamburger, dessert and drink.

Mayor Tem Miles said, “We are so thankful for the folks at Brookland United Methodist Church for taking the time to provide lunch for our essential workers and to say thank you.

“The workers of West Columbia have given so much during this pandemic to keep services running. It is great that citizens are willing to say thank you to these people who have worked hard for them every day.”
