When all you can do is watch

Posted

Last week my wife and I were in church when my NEST doorbell alerted my phone that there was movement at our front door.

I looked at the app and sure enough, there was our neighborhood black cat named Sammy.

He was carrying something in his mouth. He has been known to

He has been known to bring little presents for us, depositing them on our front porch.

Things like dead bats and mice. But this was a small bun

But this was a small bunny that was very much alive.

Sammy set the little rabbit down, walked a few feet away and stretched out to watch it.

The poor thing was scared and was not moving.

Well, I said a little prayer of protection for the rabbit, forgiveness for Sammy, and thankfulness for the young girl.

There are a lot of things that happen every day in life, and all we can do is watch.

We may be able to raise a voice for political change.

We can contribute to disaster relief organizations. A creative mind can come

A creative mind can come up with practical ways to address whatever it was that caught our attention.

But at that moment when we see or hear something disturbing, we can always pray.

Whenever you see an ambulance or fire truck with lights flashing and sirens blaring, say a prayer for the people involved.

You truly don’t have to just sit and watch.
