Where do you get your strength?

Senior Living

From the time we are conceived, we gain strength from an outside source. A baby depends on the nourishment it receives from its mother.

A vital premise for life is to know that we are physical beings with spiritual needs.

To live we must have nutritious food to eat.

How do we gain spiritual strength?

Jesus Christ provided a way by coming and declaring that he was the Bread of Life. That means that Jesus can be our spiritual food every day.

In your lifetime you will be bombarded with fitness programs, health aids, muscle builders and diet plans. All claim to help you gain physical strength.

Many people are spiritually weak. They are starving for lack of spiritual food that can only come from the source of life itself, Jesus Christ.

When we feast everyday on Bible-reading, prayer and eating that food that Jesus called “doing the will of His Father,” we will grow spiritually and become strong in our faith.

I know an elderly man who is near death. He is losing physical strength but has tremendous spiritual strength.

He said to me with a smile “I told the Lord that whenever He is ready to take me home, I am ready to go.” Yes, you need to eat right and keep your strength up.

But if you are spiritually strong in the Lord you will have no fear when it comes time for you to make your final journey.
