Why Dominion really wants to buy SCANA

If this happens and the ratepayers are forsaken again, we the ratepayers need to work toward a vote of “No Confidence” in the PSC and House Speaker Jay Lucas.

The speaker should never have run roughshod over the ratepayers by actually “instructing” the commission to accept selling SCANA to Dominion. The speaker has wide influence in who the legislature appoints to the Public Service Commission.

He also influences the Public Utilities Review Committee members who review the candidates for the PSC. It’s all in legislators’ power. The speaker should not try to influence how the PSC rules on a sale.

How can the citizens of South Carolina have confidence in a speaker and other legislators who would try to influence the decisions of commissioners who are not allowed to hear evidence outside their hearings?

Yet the speaker who can influence their $104,000 a year commission seats tells them what he wants them to do.

If the PSC bends to his influence and decide not what is best for the ratepayers and our state, how can we have any confidence in any of them ever again?

It is my opinion, from all I have learned about Dominion in the 16 states they have infiltrated, this Virginia-based company cannot in any way be beneficial for the state of South Carolina nor the ratepayers of SCANA/SCE&G. Everything they touch is twisted and in double speak. The only reason they are pouring millions into this sale is to get their feet in our state for the pipeline they need to get to Georgia.

This money is nothing compared to what they intend to make when they get through our state. Believe it, they will get all their money back from us ratepayers in the end.

It just will take patience, and they have patience galore.
