Dutch Fork football finishes nationally-ranked again

For the 3rd time in 4 years, the Dutch Fork football team finished the season ranked in a national poll.

The defending 4-time Class 5A champions placed 15th in the final USA Today Sports Super 25 Expert Rankings. The Silver Foxes were the lone Palmetto State team in the rankings and also placed 4th in the publication’s Regional rankings.

St. John Bosco of Bellflower, Calif. finished 1st in the rankings with a 13-1 mark after winning the CIF State Open Division championship.

Dutch Fork finished 12th in last year’s Super 25 Expert Rankings and were 22nd in the 2017 poll after winning the 1st of its 4 straight titles.

In addition, Dutch Fork placed 9th in the Maxpreps.com Top 25 season-ending rankings and were 1st in its state rankings.

River Bluff ranked 19th in the Maxpreps.com rankings.

The Silver Foxes will enter next season looking to become the 1st school in South Carolina High School League history to win 5 straight years. They will also look to extend the following streaks:

- 40 straight games without a loss

- 39 straight wins over Palmetto State teams

- 23 straight region and road victories - 20 straight post-season victories
