Around pelion

The community is invited to participate in the annual egg hunt April 13 at 11 am at the Pelion Community Club. There also will be a cake walk, bounce house, games, and much more. This event is sponsored by the Pelion Woman’s Club, which is celebrating its 24th year.

Share an Easter journey with The Rescue Church April 21 at 11 am. Discover how to survive the long and winding road we call life. The Rescue meets in the Pelion High School Auditorium. The web site is therescuepelion.org.

Save the Date of May 27 at 10 am for the annual Pelion Ruritan Veterans Memorial Service.

Pelion Elementary report cards go home with students on April 3. PES Musical Theater students will perform their spring musical, “Yee Haw,” April 9 at 6 pm at the Pelion Performing Arts Center. Families are invited to attend. PES volunteers will be honored with a breakfast April 11 at 7:45 am. Field Day for students will be April 12.

Happy Birthday to Berkeley Livingston.

Pelion Library will host preschool story time April 10 at 11 am for ages 2-5 years. Technology training will be April 10 at 10:30 am with registration required.

TeenScene will make DIY Photo Coasters April 11 at 6 pm for grades 6-12. Bring your favorite family photo to make these gorgeous handmade coasters. Yarn Art will be held on April 13 at 10 am for ages 13 and up.

Don’t forget to get your entry form for the poetry contest. These are available from the Pelion Branch Library, all Pelion School Media centers or at www.lex.lib.sc.us. Entry deadline is April 15 by 5 pm.

April 5 includes JV/V softball at Swansea at 5 pm; JV/V girls soccer vs Swansea at 5:30 pm; and V baseball vs Swansea at 5 pm. April 8 Varsity baseball vs Wagener-Salley at 5 p.m. April 9 B-team baseball vs Midlands Stem Institute at 4 pm; JV girls soccer at Airport at 4:30 pm and Varsity girls soccer vs Edisto at 4:30 pm. April 10 games include JV/V softball vs Brookland-Cayce at 5 pm; Track at White Knoll at 4 pm; JV/V girls soccer vs Brookland-Cayce at 4:30 pm and V Baseball vs Orangeburg-Wilkinson at 5 pm.
