Lexington Citizen’s Police Academy taking applicants

The Lexington Police Department is currently seeking applicants for its Citizen’s Police Academy.

The purpose of the academy is for attendees to gain a better understanding of the day to day operations of the Lexington Police Department, increase knowledge of law enforcement objectives and to build stronger partnerships with the Town of Lexington community.

The 9-week program will begin Mar. 10 and meet on Tuesday from 6:30- 8:30 pm.

Classes will be held at the Lexington Police Department’s training facility.

The graduation ceremony will be May 12 at the Town of Lexington Municipal Complex.

Qualified applicants must be 18 or older, a resident or business owner in the Town of Lexington and successfully submit to a background check to be completed by the department.

The class is limited to 25 participants.
