The Bi-Lo at Westside Plaza Shopping Center will become a KJ’s Market IGA grocery store.
The transition date for the new store is slated for Jan. 15.
Phil Payment, president of W. Lee Flowers Co. in Scranton, confirmed the transition at 2349 Augusta Road.
Earlier this month, Parkland Plaza’s management company announced the Bi-Lo grocery store at Parkland Plaza in Cayce will become a Food Lion.
In September, Hickory, N.C.-based Alex Lee announced it would buy 20 Bi-Lo stores as Southeastern Grocers announced it would sell Bi-Lo stores in South Carolina. Alex Lee also owns Lowes Foods.
Alex Lee said at the time it would convert 15 of the stores to the KJ’s Market IGA.
The company, at the time of the sale, said it would meet with Bi-Lo employees to discuss employment opportunities.
Alex Lee President and CEO Brian George stated: “We have an opportunity to accelerate our growth in these markets while continuing to provide shoppers with a unique grocery shopping experience in their local communities.”
Alex Lee acquired W. Lee Flowers in the fall of 2019.
