3 honors for Veterans of Foreign Wars

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6740 Lake Murray members are proud of their 1st female Commander. Congratulations to Commander Ginger Graham.

Recently she and Chaplain Terry Camp bell attended the SC Convention where VFW 6740 was “Most Outstanding SC Post,” Commander Graham was “Most Outstanding SC Commander” and Quartermaster Gary Landry was “Most Outstanding SC Quartermaster.” A special thank you was given to outgoing VFW 6740 Auxiliary President Karen Zaledzieski for her work improving the lives of many.

U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer (ret.) Terry Lee Campbell, Sr. was honored as a VFW 6740 veteran at a Lexington County Blowfish game. He was introduced on the ball field, met with Mascot Blowie and received a standing ovation. Campbell was given a dinner and a bag of special gifts. Tomorrow, Aug. 7, VFW 6740 members will be at the

Blowfish game honoring MSG James Salley, Jr. on Military Appreciation Night.

VFW 6740 has an active auxiliary. Their members help honor the service of a family member. Members participate in programs bringing family and community together and promote patriotism. For more information on VFW 6740 and their activities email: maxine.caughman@gmail.com .

Beulah Baptist Church is accepting donations for their yard sale Saturday, Aug. 22 to raise money for building repairs and are in need of sale items. They can pick them up. The yard sale will be on US 1 at the Gilbert-Summit IGS. If you have donations call Jenny at 803-360-2876.
