Mid-Carolina Electric Cooperative donated crepe myrtle seedlings to all third-grade students at Midway Elementary School as part of its TreeMendUs program, which promotes planting trees as one way to benefit the environment. MES says the program helps students understand the importance of replanting trees in the environment in order to offset the effects of rapid growth.
