Lexington County travelers can rest easier.
Amid reports of other airports experiencing safety concerns, Columbia Metropolitan Airport officials report it is safe.
CAE Public Relations Manager Lynne Douglas says all 67 TSA agents have continued to work during the government shutdown.
Douglas reminds travelers to allow plenty of time to go through security, especially for morning flights when airports are busiest. She recommends 90 minutes for domestic flights and 2 hours for international ones.
Last week, Harvest Hope Food Bank donated food and water to furloughed employees working at the airport.
They have been working without pay since Dec. 22, the longest government shutdown in US history.
