Cayce calls for artists for mural project

Posted

The City of Cayce wants your art on display. The city is commissioning artists to design and paint 2 murals along State Street. The City of Cayce is working to implement an Arts District on State Street, the original heart of Cayce. Public art is essential to this vision. The city is requesting proposals from artists to design and paint the murals on private property on State Street. Proposals are due Monday, Sept. 9, at noon. The selected artists will be notified by Friday, Sept. 20. This is the first large scale mural project that the city is leading, and will help set the tone for future public art projects. They are seeking artists with a strong point of view and the ability to create complex, engaging designs. The mural locations are:

• 1804 State Street (north-facing wall)

• 2005 State Street (south-facing wall) The exact size of the mural will be determined in collaboration with City of Cayce staff, the property owner and the artist. For more information, visit https://www.caycesc.gov/news.php?NID=422 .
