Chapin railroad crossing closing

Posted

Chapin commuters may need to plan a detour starting next week.

Southern Commercial Develpment, LLC provides traffic control and detour signage for railroad crossing closures for CSX Transportation.

They announced the Clark St. railroad crossing between Chapin Rd. and Beaufort St. will be closed beginning Feb. 19 or 20.

The closure will allow routine track maintenance for normal wear and tear of the track, Erika Elmore of SCD told the Chronicle.

The crossing is expected to be closed for 2-5 days.

Signage will be in place marking detour routes.
