I hope the President and all Lexington County conservatives will forgive me for recommending anything Chinese to you but, boy, these are tasty and easy to make.

1 box brown sugar

1 stick butter

1 1/2 cups plain flour

1/2 tsp baking powder

1 tsp vanilla

1 cup pecans

3 eggs

1/4 tsp salt

Chop pecans. Beat eggs well. Cream sugar and butter. Add eggs, flour and vanilla. Beat until smooth, stir in pecans. Bake in a greased 13 x 9 inch pan at 350° 40 minutes. Let set about 5 minutes, then cut into squares.
