DHEC honors Community Heroes

Community Heroes guide others in health care.

They go above and beyond in making covid vaccines accessible, says the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control.

DHEC has named My Pharmacy in Lexington the newest award recipient.

DHEC’s state partners pro vide covid education, testing and vaccinations.

My Pharmacy at 808 US 378 in Lexington began giving vaccines Jan. 14.

The pharmacy has:

• Surpassed 15,500 shots.

• Given vaccinating in rural and under-served areas with its mobile van in Dillon, Manning and Florence to help local officials.

• Used social media to tel those in rural areas where t get vaccinations or tests.

• Provided vaccine information to customers.

• Helped customers with limited or no internet learn how to register for shots.

• Offered incentives to encourage vaccinations.
