The annual Easter Sunrise Community Service will be held in the Gilbert Community Park Easter morning at 7 am. Six local churches and their choirs will participate in the service. The Rev. Kevin Thompson, pastor of Gilbert Church of God, will be the guest speaker. Refreshments will be served after the service. In case of rain. the service will be at First Baptist Church in Gilbert.

Pond Branch United Methodist Church is celebrating Holy Week.  The Good Friday Service is at 7 pm April 19.  The church welcomes everyone to the Easter Sunrise Service at 7:30 am April 21. After the service, breakfast will be served in the Family Activities Building.  The church will present an Easter Cantata, “Victor’s Crown,” performed by the Chancel Choir. PBUC is off I-20, Exit 44, at 1913 Pond Branch Road.

Shiloh United Methodist Church invites children to an Easter Egg hunt Saturday at 10 am. There will be refreshments and games for the children.

Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church invites the community to an Easter Sunrise Service at 7 am, and the morning worship service at 10:30 am. In between the services, there will be an Easter Egg hunt for the children and breakfast for everyone.

Beulah United Methodist Church invites you to its Easter Sunrise Service at 7 am at the future location on US 378. After the service, everyone is invited back to the church for breakfast. In case of rain, the service will be held in the church.

“In your Easter bonnet with all of the thrills upon it, you’ll be the grandest lady in the Easter parade.” These are the words to an old song sung by Bing Crosby. This week, the ladies at the Gilbert-Summit Senior Center had an Easter bonnet parade. The ladies created their own hats to wear prior to their lunch. Later in the week, several of the members enjoyed a morning of bowling. Director Donna Neel said the center will be closed Friday of this week for spring break.
