Get tickets for Scouts’ barbecue

Gilbert BSA Troop 60 plans a Barbecue fundraiser 9 am - 3 pm Saturday, April 3 to support their operating expenses. Tickets are available at their Scout Hut Wednesdays 7 to 8 pm. and members will have tickets. Tickets are $10 for a pound of pork or a quart of hash and rice. Get your tickets now before they sell out.

GILBERT TOWN Council met this month to discuss updates on the old bank building, storage area for a fire truck, zoning, and deadline for ethics forms. Update discussions included roads in town, utilities, beautification and maintenance, the Gilbert Depot, zoning and planning and updates from the resident deputy. New business included electronic signs, LED street lights contract and brush going to Edmund’s landfill. Karen Taylor discussed a memorial for Marty Harmon.

The Gilbert Town Council meets the second Monday each month at 7 pm.

COTTON BRANCH Farm Sanctuary plans a Family Fun Day Sunday, April 25. Tours will be given for you can meet and interact with the animals.

LAST WEEK was National School Social Worker Week. Gilbert High School employee Heather Bowling was honored and thanked for her work at GHS. Several more students were chosen for the Top 10% GHS Student Spotlight. Congratulations to these students: Abigail Mervine, Ally Moss, Anna-Marie Goodwin, and Katelyn Barefoot.
