The Ruritans and the Post 101 American Legion will meet at 7:30 am May 15 to clean up at the Oaklawn cemetery and place flags on veterans graves. Anyone willing to assist with this project is welcome.

The Ruritan Veterans Memorial service is May 31 at 10 am.

The Ruritans met this month with a crowd of 28 people. Beth Shumpert and Faye Lee provided a wonderful meal of lasagna, salad, garlic bread, and red velvet cake. Our club is growing with new members who are willing to assist with our projects.

CONVENT BAPTIST Women’s Ministry will sponsor a tea May 1 at 11 am. Guest speaker will be Dawn Smith Jordan.

Women are encouraged to wear hats, gloves, and pearls. Gifts will go to the best dressed lady, best hat, youngest and oldest lady and the most pearls. To register call 803-894-3959.

PELION HIGH’S annual awards day is May 14 at 6 pm at the Pelion High cafeteria.

American Legion Post 101 will celebrate their 5th anniversary 1 - 4 pm May 8 at 951 Pine Street, Pelion.
