Help the hungry at Thanksgiving

Posted

The holidays are almost upon us but the needs in our community are still great and everyone deserves a great family meal during Thanksgiving.

St. James Lutheran is holding a Holiday Food Drive until Dec. 14 for non perishable foods that can be used for holiday meals. Some of what they are asking for are spaghetti noodles, jelly, canned yams, boxed cake mixes, dried beans and peas, cranberry sauce and cornbread, biscuit mix and ham or turkey.

Donations may be dropped off at the church, 1358 South Lake Drive.

The marching band season was cut short by the early end of the Timberwolves’ football season but The White Knoll High School Band program is hosting their annual Santa Brunch and Craft Fair at the Lexington Municipal Conference Center Friday and Saturday, Nov. 13-14. WKHS students will give musical performances throughout the event. Friday’s schedule runs from 6 to 9 pm with a vendor and craft fair. Food available includes Chick-fil-A. On Saturday the fun starts at 9 am until 1 pm with Brunch with Santa only $5 for adults, $3 for kids 3-10 years old. A Chinese Auction and the vendor and craft fair continue until 2.
