Thank teachers and military retirees here in South Carolina. Our state ranks 8th in the US for patriotism and 1st in civics education. According to personal finance researchers at Wallet-Hub, our state is also:

• 3rd in average number of military enlistees per 1,000 civilian adults

• 6th in veterans per 1,000 civilian adults

• 7th in active duty military per 100,000 civilian adults Now here’s the bad news. We’re:

• 28th in percentage of adults who voted in the 2016 Presidential election.
