Holiday Parades Begin This Weekend

Posted

Now that the Thanksgiving turkey and ham are gone, it’s time to look forward to the traditional small town Christmas parades. “The Quail” flew around to all the towns listed below and gathered their parade schedules.

We start this weekend with the Town of Wagener. The parade begins at 10 a.m. Saturday (Dec. 4) at A.L. Corbett Middle School and continues down Main Street ending at Wagener-Salley High School.

Also on Dec. 4, the Town of North presents Home for the Holidays, its annual Christmas Festival, which starts at 10 a.m., with the Christmas Parade at 4 p.m. There will be food trucks, local vendors and a wide variety of entertainment throughout the day.

Then head over to Batesburg-Leesville on Dec. 5 to enjoy the Christmas parade there. The parade begins at 5 p.m. and starts at the intersection of Highway 1 and Hendrix Street and heads down Main Street, ending up at College Street.

The weekend of Dec. 11, there are two parades scheduled in “The Quail”’s territory. The first is the Town of Gaston, with festivities starting at 10 a.m. Their route will go from Frances Mack Intermediate School and come across Highway 321 toward Town Hall, ending up near the Collard Festival grounds.

And finally, The Town of Pelion will have its Festival of Lights parade. It begins at 6 p.m. at the Pelion Senior Center & Pelion Library intersection and heads down Highway 6 into town, ending up at the Community Center across from the Lexington County Fire Station.

Until next week, fly safely, my friends ...
