Have you ever had a blind date? For Valentine’s Day our Gilbert-Summit Branch Library invites you to take home a blind date with a book.

How does this work? Our library has several books wrapped in black paper with pink hearts on them. Each book is a romantic love story great for Valentine’s Day.

You can read a brief description about a book but you can’t see the title or the author. Many blind date books are available. Unwrap a love story to read for Valentine’s Day and enjoy.

GILBERT PACK 60 Scouts met at their Scout Hut last weekend to begin building their Pinewood Derby race cars. The Scouts will build their own cars for the annual Pinewood Derby later this year.

A GILBERT Blessing Boxes was filled and a few hours later it was empty. Hope Binkley said some of the boxes are filled twice daily.

Blessing Boxes provide food for needy families. Boxes are at Beulah United Methodist Church and Restore Hope Ministry. Binkley said any non-perishable food donations are needed and appreciated.
