Keep your immune system strong

We are all taking a hard hit from this corona virus.

Most of us are not used to spending this much time indoors and are going stir crazy.

I have a plan for you.

While we are all avoiding others like the plaque, some of us have to come in contact.

This may be due to essential jobs, mail delivery, grocery shopping, etc.

Here’s some tips to keep your immune system strong:

• Get out and get those sun rays. Spending 10-30 minutes in the sun gives you a Vitamin D boost. Make sure to wear an SPF sunscreen to protect your skin from damage.

• Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds each time. Some people sing the “happy birthday” song to help.

• Eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Citrus grapefruit, and vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprout and capsicums are rich, natural sources of vitamin C.

• Get enough sleep. That’s between 8-10 hours.

• Regular exercise helps as well, so use workout. Walk or jog this time at home to outside to get fresh air.

• Stay hydrated. Drink enough water to replenish what you lose through sweat and daily activity.
