Lessons learned at the DMV

Posted

I embarked on an adventure to the local DMV to get my Real ID and my 16-year-old to take the written test for his driver’s permit. The employees at the DMV in Irmo deserve congratulations on their friendliness and professionalism.

I learned to check what documents were needed before you go. I didn’t bring my son’s birth certificate or social security card to prove he was a legal citizen and not a surprise from the stork delivery service.

I also learned that we all have until October 1, 2021, to get Real IDs to board airlines, enter federal buildings, or visit a military installation. Check scdmv.com to find out what documentation you need.

Exercise will help you lose the extra weight you gained during the covid crisis. Harbison State Park has 18 miles of trails. For those who like to kayak, Harbison has an access point for the Peak to Prosperity Passage of the Palmetto Trail.

The 3.1 mile Justin Pepper 5K: Walk, Run, Ruck, is August 29 - September 7. Proceeds provide scholarships to youth who excel in sports. The foundation have given over $35,000 in scholarships.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Stan Shealy, Lee Anne Lemar, and my sister Gina Wessinger.
