A program established by a Lexington resident is helping hurricane victims.
The One SC Fund was started by former Gov. Nikki Haley after the 2015 flooding from Hurricane Joaquin washed out roads and homes here and elsewhere in the state.
To date, One SC has awarded $3.6 million to nonprofits that have provided relief and recovery assistance to over 19,600 individuals across our state and helped over 1,740 families return home.
Central Carolina Community Foundation is accepting donations to the One SC Fund to help victims this year.
100% of every dollar from county resident is being used in the Pee Dee and Grand Strand that were impacted by Hurricane Florence.
One SC has given $165,000 to 7 nonprofits working on hurricane relief and recovery. The scope of work from the nonprofits includes food distribution, home recovery and rebuilding, water and tree removal, and the building of a dormitory for volunteers.
If you wish to contribute, you can donate:
Online: Visit www.OneSC-Fund.org to make a donation with your credit card.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by Hurricane Florence,” said JoAnn Turnquist, CEO of Central Carolina Community Foundation.
“We are grateful for our first responders and the many organizations that are helping those in need. We ask you to join them by making a donation – no matter the size.”
