More drug violence headed here?

Lexington County and others on the I-20 corridor need to be concerned about the revenge and vengeance shootings that will spill over from Mexico. South Carolina is categorized as a “trans-shipment location” by the Drug Enforcement Agency.

According to published reports, Tijuana suffered 218 murders last month and leftist President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador sent shock waves after publicly claiming an end to his country’s drug war. He said he will focus on reducing violent crimes instead of capturing violent drug lords.

“There is no more war because what we want is peace,” he said.

Obrador said 54 murders in 1 day was improving on the previous 80 a day record, demonstrating his strategy is working.

Sadly, murder cases in Mexico in 2018 rose 33% from 2017, to 33,341. President Trump called it worse than Afghanistan.

Trump said it is a major contributor to the crises taking place on our southern border and spreading throughout the US.

Court documents from the ongoing trial of drug cartel boss Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman revealed Obrador’s failed presidential campaign in 2006 received cartel money.

Obrador ignores escalating violence in Cancun, Acapulco, Baja and Tijuana.
