Located by the historic mill in downtown Swansea, Charlie’s Corner Supply opened recently in Swansea.
The town’s Old Mill, which was removed, opened around the early-1920s. The current milling store space, which Charlie’s now occupies, opened to the public in 1952 at 200 South Springs St.
The store — which sells feed and seed, along with gardening, hunting and fishing supplies — is owned by Matt Cochran (a licensed real estate agent and residential home builder) and Karen Miller (a mortgage loan processor who is also an artist and painter).
Charlie’s is open daily, except for Wednesday and Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The store’s phone number is 803-568-2030. Charlie’s selection of items will include rotating seasonal items.
“We’re passionate about our community and looking to serve and invest in others,” they say on their website.
The store is named after Charlie, the couple’s dog.
“When he is not stocking shelves, he loves ear scratches, a swim in the pond and catching the ball,” the website says.
