New youth leadership takes over

Red Bank United Methodist Church will celebrate the youth ministry of the church this Sunday as their longtime youth director Larry Mc-Connaughhay has retired.

Thanks to Larry and his wife for their leadership over the years. Former Children’s Ministry Director Ashley Reynolds is taking over the youth program and will bring energy and love for children as she strives to provide a youth program we can count on. For information about any of the youth or children’s programs at Red Bank UMC, call 803-359-4031.

THE ELECTIONS are coming but the races that most affect us locally don’t get nearly as much attention as it deserves – the local school board. Lexington District 1 has 10 candidates and there have been several candidate forums. Another forum is happening this coming Monday evening at the River Bluff High School performing arts center, with 2 sessions featuring 6 candidates: 6 pm with Anne Marie Green, Mike Griffin and Jason Hinton; and 7:30 with Mike Anderson, Chris Rice and Chelsea Snelgrove. Forums are live on the District 1 YouTube channel.
