Have you received offers for face masks and other virus protection gear?
Consumer experts warn that these may be scams.
Scammers use the pandemic to pick your pocket.
Their offers are for pre-paid products only.
That means they get your credit or debit card info.
Then they hit your card and send you nothing.
Buy only from suppliers you know and trust.
Call 811
While you’re working at home, do you plan digging and planting a garden?
Dominion Energy electric and natural gas customers must call 811 at least 3 business days before digging.
Follow these steps:
1. Call 811 before you dig. State law requires that
2. Wait. At no cost to you, technicians will mark utility line locations for you.
3. Dig at least 2 feet on all sides of the marks
Walk a Mile cancelled
Sexual Trauma Services of the Midlands has cancelled its Walk A Mile In Their Shoes event April 23.

Musician grants
Lexington-based Christopher Conner Foundation offers $500 virus relief grants for full-time local musicians.
If you are a SC musician in need due to cancelled performances, apply for a Let It Sing grant at www.connerfoundation.org .
The foundation is accepting donations so that additional grants can be made.
Students can advance despite school closings
Lexington County school closings may last longer than this month.
The Department of Education has released its academic plan for the remainder of the 2019-20 school year.
The federal government has waived requirements for testing this spring.
Teachers continue to work with students through packets and online learning to complete this semester.
Students will receive credit for their courses if they complete all requirements.
High school seniors can earn course credits to be ready for college.
