Northside students star in distracted driving videos

How many times have you looked over in traffic to see the driver beside you texting, fiddling with the radio, putting on makeup?

Their eyes on anything but the road.

It can be easy to forget what an enormous responsibility we hold when we get behind the wheel.

Students at Northside Christian Academy learned that first hand. On March 5 and 6, Northside played home to a video production crew from NP Strategy.

The crew is producing 4 videos that will be used on social media to warn teenagers, parents and others about the perils of distracted driving.

Students from Northside Christian volunteered to be part of the production.

NP Strategy is using the analogy that being distracted for just 5 seconds on the highway is the equivalent of driving the entire length of a football field blindfolded.

April is Distracted Driving Month, and these videos would be promoted on social media throughout April by the Independent Insurance Agents of North Carolina association.
