Next spring, 2 new parks will open in West Columbia’s River District.

That’s not all. The Savage Craft Ale Works in the old West Columbia’ City Hall will connect to the art park from Center Street.

The large Brookland retail, commercial and residential complex will be finished in the State and Meeting street area.

With new projects more parking will be available.

The Interactive Art Park behind the Terra restaurant on Meeting Street will open soon. The Enabling Park near Riverwalk will also be completed soon.

Both parks will be available by mid summer.

All the additions are in Mayor Pro Tem and Council man Tem Miles’ district. He said the improvements will make the River District more conducive for events.

“All of the additions coming to the area should make for a more convenient as an event host,” he said.

West Columbia Mayor Bobby Horton is optimistic.

“With the Interactive Art Park, the Enabling Park and Savage Craft Ale Works being open, there will be a lot of walking traffic to everything,” said Horton. “Add the Brookland project and it all ties together.
