Halloween will be here soon and the Gilbert House of Terror invites you to visit, if you dare.

Since 2001, thousands of people have made their way through the 13 haunted rooms. Each guest has no idea what terrors might await them in each room. From Frankenstein, Dracula, Zombies, and other Halloween creatures and monsters, each guest at the Gilbert House of Terror will get their fill of thrills and shrills.

The Gilbert House of Terror has been spreading fear to local thrill seekers, all in support of great causes. Proceeds benefit a variety of local nonprofit organizations, including The First Calvary Food Pantry of Gilbert, Gilbert’s Boy Scout Troop 60, Lexington County Juvenile Arbitration Program, and The Palmetto Equestrian Therapeutic Riding Program. They invite you to bring your family and friends to visit October 12, 13, 19, 20, 28 and on Halloween night. Haunted tours begin at 7:30 until midnight. The cost is $15 per person. Beulah United Methodist Church invites you to its annual yard sale. They will have sausage biscuits for breakfast and hot dogs and hamburgers for lunch at a reasonable price. The yard sale will be Thursday through Saturday, October 4, 5, and 6, from, 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. The church is at 161 Beulah Church Road in Gilbert.

Congratulations to Gilbert High School golf students Kennedy Gooding, Ally Moss, Alexis Hodge and Meredith Price, who recently finished second in the Lady Eagle Invitation at Stoney Point in Greenwood.

Congratulations to GHS student Haley F. Kubilus, who has been named a semifinalist in the National Merit Scholarship Program.

Congratulations to Gilbert Middle School STEM teacher David Chestnut and his robotics team. They received a $725 grant from the Lexington 1 Educational Foundation. The funds will support their activities throughout the year.

Good Hope Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Gilbert invites you to its Connectional Lay Ministry Day October 14 at 11 a.m. On this day, they will celebrate the work of the laity in the church. They will also emphasize the need to be a people and a church that seeks to make difference in the world. Their theme will be “getting back to basics in studying God’s word and serving His people.” The guest speaker will be state Rep. Wendy C. Brawley. The church is at 1032 Saint Paul’s Church Road, Gilbert.

Shirley Sprenne wanted to let the Gilbert area know that the Boiling Springs Community Club will have a barbecue fundraiser October 27, 3 to 6 p.m. The club will be selling pork barbecue at $10 a pound, whole chickens for $10 each and half chickens for $5. Plates will be $10 for either chicken or pork barbecue. Proceeds will benefit the building fund. and for more information call M. L. Taylor at 894-3292.
