The Gilbert High School baseball team were awarded their 2021 Class 3A state title rings Saturday during halftime of the Sept. 4 home football game between the Indians and Lexington. Led by head coach Ashley Burnett, Gilbert posted a 17-8 record and finished 2nd in Region 5-3A. It then won the Class 3A District 3 title over Aynor, defeated Region 5-3A champion Strom Thurmond for the Lower State title and beat West Oak in 3 games for the state title.
