Would you adopt a cat or dog?

Lexington County Animal Shelters have been overrun recently with puppies and kittens.

PETSinc, one of Lexington County’s main animal rescues, is overwhelmed. They currently are housing over 100 animals in West Columbia. These include 29 puppies, 24 dogs, 30 kittens and 19 cats, plus foster families have in their care one momma dog and her 6 puppies, 5 momma cats and their 13 kittens and 3 adult cats.

PETSinc said it has been inundated with more animals than they can handle because they take animals no one else will.”

PETSinc also reported that they have over 25 animals that need to come to them from other shelters, but with their staffing shortage, they can not take them in at this time.

People dump animals there without the decency to bring them inside, which is illegal and inhumane. Within a week, they found a mama with her litter of puppies, a litter of kittens and 2 little dogs left in the dog park.

To help, PETSinc needs donations, help by adopting a kitten or puppy, foster a cat or dog or help a lost pet find their home.

Businesses can also help by becoming an adoption ambassador for animals.

To help call PETSinc at 803-739-9333 or stop by their shelter at 300 Orchard Drive in West Columbia.
